HACCP & GMP/GDP
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Distribution Practices (GDPs) are the foundation of all food safety programs. They are pre-requisites to HACCP and describe the minimum standards to ensure the safety of food is maintained throughout the supply chain. Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) is a systematic preventive approach to food safety. Risks of biological, chemical, and physical hazards are assessed and identified. Methods to prevent, eliminate, and/or control those identified hazards are defined, implemented, monitored, documented, and verified. Learn to develop and implement a HACCP plan.
BRCGS
The BRCGS Food Safety Management System is an internationally recognized Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) approved scheme. BRCGS Certification is designed to verify food products that meet consistent high levels of safety and quality. BRCGS courses are designed to deliver a full understanding of the principles and requirements of the standard. Learn the elements and requirements of the BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 8.
SAFE QUALITY FOOD (SQF) TRAINING
SQF (Safe Quality Food) is a GFSI recognized food safety certification. Edition 8 of the SQF Code introduces a new approach for assessing individual food industry sectors with customized requirements in separate, stand-alone Codes: Food Safety Fundamentals, Primary Production (Produce), Manufacturing, Distribution, Food Packaging, Retail, and Quality. SQF courses prepare suppliers to meet the requirements of certification.
FSSC 22000
FSSC 22000 is an ISO-based Food Safety Management System. This GFSI benchmarked scheme provides a comprehensive, highly accessible framework for implementing and maintaining a robust food safety management system, integrating ISO 22000 and ISO/TS 22002-1 standard along with additional requirements. FSSC 22000 training courses prepare suppliers to meet the requirements of the Standard.
FSMA: PCQI, FSVP, IAVA
The Food Safety Modernization Act was signed into law by President Barack Obama on January 4, 2011. The FSMA has given the Food and Drug Administration authority to regulate the way foods are grown, harvested, and processed. SCS offers FDA-approved Preventive Controls for Human Food for the Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) and Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) delivered by approved FSPCA trainers. The Warehouse and Sanitary Transport course includes FSMA relevant requirements.
Internal Auditing
Based on ISO 19011 procedures for conducting an internal audit, Internal Auditing courses provide training for team members responsible for verifying food safety systems. This course satisfies the GFSI internal auditor training requirement and is recommended for those who are familiar with the GFSI standard they plan to audit. General and scheme-specific courses are offered.
